Shimo does not work properly with Cisco SSL protocol. Support does not help at all. Big Sur support is limited. App crashes from time to time. After disconnecting from the VPN you need to reset your network settings to make your connection work again.
As the subject says - the client is good and flexible, but don't expect any tech support on anything they don't have documented on their help wiki. I have reached out to tech support a number of times, and they either do not reply or reply back with "we can't help you" type of answers. Here is my most recent exchange related to a question around their implementation of open connect vpn...I asked if their newest version supported the gap in functionality and their reply was "go check it yourself". I did, BTW, and it doesn't. On Apr 8, 2020, at 2:56 PM, Shimo Support wrote: Hi Chris, the later is not possible. For the first question you can test yourself using the Shimo 5 trial. Purchased Shimo VPN client due to its claims. But found when connecting to one particular VPN server, the SSL is limited to CISCO and will not connect to an SSL certified Microsoft VPN Gateway. Problem is I have not found another option for Mac OSX, Apple appears to a little lacking when it comes to supporting secure VPN access, yes I know they support OpenVPN, that is not the point.
